Prof. Rachel Amir
Professor and Group head in Migal, Research Group Leader at Plant Metabolism Laboratory, Migal-Galilee Research Institute.
Introduction: Her research deals with plant biotechnology, with an emphasis on plant metabolism. Her research group focus on two main subjects: A. The metabolism of methionine in plants; B. Elucidation the bioactive compounds in pomegranate fruits and the factors that regulate their content. She is the (co-)author of more than 100 research papers. Current H-index: 31.
Research Interests: the methionine metabolism in plants; the effect of metabolites of aspartate family on the methionine level; the interaction between cysteine and glutathione and methionine metabolism; the metabolic networks in pomegranate fruits; the nature of the bioactive compounds in pomegranate fruits; the metabolism of Broomrape

Dr. Amélia Martins Delgado
Researcher at Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal. Entrepreneur; European Climate Pact Ambassador
Introduction: Her research deals with sustainable food systems, with an emphasis on food processing. She has been developing research aiming at disclosing the role of bioactive compounds in foods at sensorial and nutritional levels, and the linkage to balanced healthy and sustainable diets, namely the Mediterranean Diet. She has co-authored papers (including a recent top cited paper: percentile 94 in Food Sci & Technol), as well as several books and book chapters (all cited in WoS). She has been performing editorial duties, manuscript and grant reviews, participating in organizing and scientific committees of events, as well as delivering talks and moderating a closed expert’s group related to food system’s transformation. Current H-index: 13.
Research Interests: focused in sustainable innovation in food processing, namely in compliance with the millenary wisdom enclosed in the Mediterranean Diet; at the molecular level she is interested in understanding the interactions between food composition (from nutrients to contaminants), sensorial features, health, and the environment.

Introduction: Dr. Qureshi was awarded Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology grant for Africa, to conduct research and train a research fellow and participate in the Borlaug International Symposium and World Food Prize ceremony. International, regional and state awards/honors = 14 – including: International Achievement Award for Excellence in IPM (2020), Southern Region IPM Center Friends of IPM – Bright Idea Award (2020) and Entomologist of The Year Award (2012, 2019). Current H-index: 25.
Research Interests: aimed at investigating and developing tools and tactics for implementing knowledge based Integrated Pest and Disease Management programs useful for conservation of natural resources, improved environmental quality and sustainable crop production systems
